Scorpions – Scripture Study
Scorpions represent false teachers and devils. The workers in the kingdom of Satan. They bring false doctrines that lead to damnation. They do not bring the pure water of the Word of God, for they corrupt it. They are hirelings who scatter the flock and lead their blind followers in to the pit with them (Matthew 15:14; John 10:12-13; John 12:14).
(Deuteronomy 8:15) “Who led thee through that great and terrible wilderness, wherein were fiery serpents, and scorpions, and drought, where there was no water; who brought thee forth water out of the rock of flint;”
(Luke 10:19) “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”
(Ezekiel 2:5-7) “And they, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear, (for they are a rebellious house,) yet shall know that there hath been a prophet among them. And thou, son of man, be not afraid of them, neither be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns be with thee, and thou dost dwell among scorpions: be not afraid of their words, nor be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house. And thou shalt speak my words unto them, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear: for they are most rebellious.”
(Revelation 9:2-3) “And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit. And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power.“
(Revelation 9:10) “And they had tails like unto scorpions and there were stings in their tails: and their power was to hurt men five months.”
