Almost Persuaded?
“Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian.”
(Acts 26:28)
——————–
“Almost persuaded” … what a pitifully revealing thought.
Man, who by nature resides in a dungheap of rebellion, foolishly contemplates that he has almost decided to grasp hold of life. For a man to think that he has almost been persuaded to be a Christian exposes the blindness of an unregenerate heart.
A Christian’s eyes have been opened by faith to see the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. A Christian, as a new creation, has been turned by the power of God from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God.
Christians have received forgiveness of sins and inheritance among them which are sanctified (made holy) by faith (Acts 26:18).
Almost persuaded?
No! No one has ever been almost converted.
Man is totally saved by grace through faith or he is altogether lost in rebellion and sin.
