A Short Study of Revelation 1:6
“And hath made us kings and priests unto God and His Father; to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.”
(Revelation 1:6)
Oh, what a change of status God has given to His loved ones!
Our description was once known as dead in sins, on a dunghill, filthy, under the law’s curse, far off from God, to name just a few. But, through the truly awe-inspiring work of Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, we have now been given the title of kings and priests to God!
In God’s eyes, His people are royalty. Their names matter to Him. Their well-being is close to His heart. As kings, we have power given to us through the Holy Spirit to conquer our enemies and guard our hearts from sin. As kings, we have been clothed with the rich garments of the righteousness of Jesus Christ. As priests, we have the privilege of offering up spiritual sacrifices that please God. Instead of dead animals, we offer up the living sacrifices of praise, thanksgiving, and obedience specifically, and our whole life of service to God generally.
Rejoice, lover of Christ, in your prestigious status in the eyes of God!
