A Short Study of Genesis 1:15
“And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.”
(Genesis 1:15)
If I view the firmament as an environment of grace I will see that God has filled it with light. The lights are far and near, big and little, and bright and dim. Some lights are self-contained in their source and some reflect the light of others. But all are set in the heavens for the same reason, “to give light upon the earth.”
All light is directed to shine on that resurrected body because it is there where the glory of life has been purposed. What a picture of God’s sovereign grace and His gifts of gospel light unto men. Men may love darkness rather than light but none can remain in darkness for lack of it.
