“Lamp” – Scripture Study

  • LAMP – Light of the world, the Word, Christ

Psalm 119:105 – Thy word is a LAMP (light of the gospel) unto my feet, and a light unto my path.


Revelation 4:5 – And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices: and there were seven lamps (Holy Spirit) of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God.

Proverbs 13:9 – The light of the righteous rejoiceth: but the LAMP (light of the gospel) of the wicked shall be put out.


Proverbs 6:20 – My son, keep thy father’s commandment, and forsake not the law of thy mother:

Proverbs 6:21 – Bind them continually upon thine heart, and tie them about thy neck.

Proverbs 6:22 – When thou goest, it shall lead thee; when thou sleepest, it shall keep thee; and when thou awakest, it shall talk with thee.

Proverbs 6:23 – For the commandment is a LAMP; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life:

Proverbs 6:24 – To keep thee from the evil woman, from the flattery of the tongue of a strange woman.

Proverbs 6:25 – Lust not after her beauty in thine heart; neither let her take thee with her eyelids.


Proverbs 20:20 – Whoso curseth his father (God, Christ, the Word) or his mother (true assembly, the messenger), his LAMP (light of the gospel) shall be put out in obscure darkness. (Holy Spirit removed)


Romans 13:12 – The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.


Luke 11:34 – The light of the body is the eye: therefore when thine eye is single, thy whole body also is full of light; but when thine eye is evil, thy body also is full of darkness.

Luke 11:35 – Take heed therefore that the light which is in thee be not darkness.

Luke 11:36 – If thy whole body therefore be full of light, having no part dark, the whole shall be full of light, as when the bright shining of a candle doth give thee light.


John 18:3 – Judas then, having received a band of men and officers from the chief priests and Pharisees, cometh thither with lanterns and torches and weapons.


Revelation 8:10 – And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters;

Revelation 8:11 – And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.

  • Compare these verses with 2nd Corinthians 11:13-15.

2nd Corinthians 11:13 – For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.

2nd Corinthians 11:14 – And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. 

2nd Corinthians 11:15 – Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.
