Is “Church Membership” Biblical? – The Denominational Church System
In searching the Scriptures it becomes very clear that the clergy/laity, pulpit/pew system is completely foreign to the testimony of the Word of God. The schismatic denominational church system is in actual fact condemned in many places in the New Testament.
“But Jesus called them, and saith unto them! Ye know that they which are accounted to rule over the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and their great ones exercise authority upon them. But so shall it not be among you: but whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all.” (Mark 10:42-44)
“Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and a house divided against a house falleth.” (Luke 11:17)
”For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men? For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal?” (1st Corinthians 3:4-5)
Sectarianism is an ultimate sign of carnality.
A term that would be useful in explaining the Nicolaitan clergy/laity system is sacrosanct. Let’s take a look at this word.
(Especially of a principle, place, or routine) regarded as too important or valuable to be interfered with.
These little rituals that have been created by the church system are believed to be more important than the Word of God. Touching their vain traditions like Christmas, Easter, unbiblical sacraments and ordinances, Constantine’s Sunday sabbath, church membership, and so forth, they simply do not care if these rituals are not found in the Word of God, they do it anyway. They do not care if the clergy/laity system is a violation of Scripture, they do it anyway. They do not care if there is no mention of a Sunday sabbath in Scripture, they bind it on God’s people anyway in order to continue their system, their earthly kingdoms. The system has nothing to do with Scripture, but they will still practice their vain traditions. They practice sacrosanctilism.
Let’s look at another word. Stultify.
- Cause to lose enthusiasm and initiative, especially as a result of a tedious or restrictive routine.
- Cause (someone) to appear foolish or absurd.
As a result of a tedious or restrictive routine they cause someone to become stultified, thus, they have no enthusiasm or initiative, and it is because of these tedious and restrictive routines by these sacrosanct men in these clergy/laity systems that they cause division and pick their favourite leader. And so they create all these buildings as a result of these false doctrines. Their doctrinal wedge helps to solidify the split once one of the “church” leaders has an argument with another “church” leader. A result of this will be the creation of another new “church” building with its own brand name and hireling put in place. In place of Christ that is. Christ alone, being the head of the body and the believers all members of this same body.
None of this has anything to do with the Scriptures and the oneness that believers have in Christ.
Let’s look at another word. Doting.
Extremely and uncritically fond of someone; adoring.
The sin of the laity is the uncritical, blind, adoration of these false leaders in place of their love for Christ. And anyone who follows Jesus and His Word and doesn’t follow suit with these people are branded as heretics, divisive, and generally the people within this false church system want to separate from the believer who doesn’t follow their vain traditions and false doctrines, not based on any Scripture, but on their vicarious idolatry to the minds of these men that they dote on, these leaders. They have chosen a “church” or denomination that they like which has staltified them and rendered them useless like an atrophied limb and all they do is dote on these sacrosanct men. Loving them, not in a biblical manner, but through adoration and worshiping them and are ‘extremely and uncritically’ fond of someone based off of their “fair speeches” through their oratory skills, and high position as the one man show. These men are given great positions and high seats within their “churches” and denominations, and following suit of what Satan has said that they can be as their own God. But he is the father of lies as the Lord Jesus said in John 10. They follow lies, wilfully, ignorantly. The denominational church system is a harlot, and the pulpit/pew, clergy/laity system is not found in the New Testament.
Rejoice believer in Jesus Christ, all who believe the Word of God are members of the Body of Christ and there is no command to join ourselves as members of the harlot church system. In fact, God commands, “Come out of her, MY PEOPLE.” I hope this message has helped you understand some concepts about the pulpit/pew system and its clergy/laity imaginations because they follow after imaginations and just do whatever they want and do not truly follow the Word of God and I can sincerely say it is very sad. Especially as they have scattered the sheep.
With help from a brother.
Come Lord Jesus!
