A Short Study of Leviticus 19:14

“Thou shalt not put a stumbling block before the blind.”
(Leviticus 19:14)

There is a great danger of which we need to be aware. In our zeal to preach the gospel in its purity and with the necessity of opposing false, free-will, works religion, we must not lay stumbling blocks before blind sinners which might hinder them in seeking the LORD. Nowhere in the Bible do I read of preachers, prophets, apostles, or evangelists saying to sinners, “You must know this doctrine or that before you can be saved,” or “You must see, experience, and feel this or that before you can be saved.” In the Word of God, the message proclaimed to sinners everywhere is, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved.” To make any improvement upon or addition to that is to place a stumbling block before the blind.
