It was the picture of Christ associating Himself with the lowly of heart.
Here the Son of glory reveals (even in birth) His acquaintance with grief.
How beautifully He declares Himself to be the King of the rejected and poor.
No pomp, no gala, no elaborate ceremony will steal this magnificent display of God’s love.
Surely, one would think, there could never be a more unworthy place for the Son of God to take up His residence…….unless (by God’s grace), He lives within a new man, one such as I am.
