What is the Shroud of Turin?
The shroud of Turin is simply a burial garment from some individual from around 1,000 years ago.
It has nothing to do with anything written in the Word of God.
It has nothing to do with the Lord Jesus Christ.
There are ofcourse some deceived people who try to make claims that it was the shroud in which the Lord Jesus was buried – but this is an erroneoous assumption based upon scientific, historical and Scriptural evidence.
Setting aside the scientific and historical evidence which have proven the garment to be around 1,000 years old, let us look and see why it is clearly proven from the Word of God, why this shroud was not the burial garment of the Lord Jesus Christ.
The clear reason is, that it is a one piece shroud, and the Word of God is very clear that the Lord Jesus was buried in atleast two linen cloths. The Saviour had cloths that were wrapped around his body and there was a separate cloth that was wrapped around his head.
Then took they the body of Jesus, and wound it in linen clothes with the spices, as the manner of the Jews is to bury.
So with this being the case, it doesn’t even match the language of the Bible at all.
The shroud of Turin is something that we should not associate in any sense with anything in the Word of God.
