Joyce Meyer

“Although your physical body will die someday, your spirit will continue to live for an eternity. Whether your spirit lives in heaven or hell depends on the choices you have made. In this book, best selling author Joyce Meyer outlines God’s plan of salvation so that you can make a quality decision.”
(“The Most Important Decision You Will Ever Make” Back of the book, 1996-Edition)

“The spiritual part of you can be thought of as the part of you that cannot be seen with the natural eye. This part of you will live forever. And where the spiritual you lives depends on the decision you make as you read this book.”
(“The Most Important Decision You Will Ever Make” Page 8, 1996-Edition)

Joyce Meyer, (like Copeland and Hagin) does not believe that Jesus atoned for the sins of God’s elect on the cross, but rather the Jesus that they believe in had to go to hell and be tormented there for 3 days to atone for sin.

“During that time He entered hell, where you and I deserved to go (legally) because of our sin…He paid the price there.…no plan was too extreme…Jesus paid on the cross and in hell….God rose up from His throne and said to demon powers tormenting the sinless Son of God, “Let Him go.” Then the resurrection power of Almighty God went through hell and filled Jesus…He was resurrected from the dead ¾ the first born-again man”
(The Most Important Decision You Will Ever Make: A Complete And Thorough Understanding Of What It Means To Be Born Again, 1991, pages 35-36, Joyce Meyer)

In her 1996 edition of “The Most Important Decision You Will Ever Make” Joyce Meyer states the same things but with different wording.

“When Jesus hung on the cross, He took our sin upon Himself. God cannot stay in the presence of sin. As Jesus took our sin, He was separated from the presence of the Father…Jesus was taking your sins and those of everyone else upon Him as He felt this absence of His Father’s presence. He said, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” [Matt. 27:46, author’s paraphrase] Jesus knew it would happen, but the horror of separation from the bright presence of the Father was worse than He could of imagined, and it caused Him to cry out…and His spirit went to hell because that is where we deserved to go.”
(Page 42, 1996-Edition)

“There is no hope of anyone going to heaven unless they believe this truth. You cannot go to heaven unless you believe with all your heart that Jesus took your place. He became your substitute and took all the punishment you deserve. He bore all your sins. He paid the dept you owe…Jesus went to hell for you. He died for you. He paid for your sins.”

Joyce Meyer tells everyone that they have no hope of entering heaven unless they believe the born again Jesus heresy and that the atonement took place in hell.

“He was pronounced guilty on the cross but He paid the price in hell.”

“There is no hope of anyone going to heaven unless they believe this truth I am presenting. You cannot go to heaven unless you believe with all your heart that Jesus took your place in hell”
Joyce Meyer (“The Most Important Decision You Will Ever Make”, 1991 pg. 3)

“God rose up from His throne and said to demon powers tormenting the sinless Son of God, ‘Let Him go.’ Then the resurrection power of Almighty God went through hell and filled Jesus. He was resurrected from the dead — the first born-again man”
Joyce Meyer (“The Most Important Decision You Will Ever Make”, 1991 pg. 36)

“The Bible can’t even find any way to explain this. Not really. That’s why you’ve got to get it by revelation. There are no words to explain what I’m telling you. I’ve got to just trust God that He’s putting it into your spirit like He put it into mine.”
Joyce Meyer (What Happened from the Cross to The Throne? audio)

Joyce Meyer claims to be without sin:

“I’m going to tell you something folks, I didn’t stop sinning until I finally got it through my thick head I wasn’t a sinner anymore. And the religious world thinks that’s heresy and they want to hang you for it. But the Bible says that I’m righteous and I can’t be righteous and be a sinner at the same time. All I was ever taught to say was, ‘I’m a poor, miserable sinner.’ I am not poor, I am not miserable and I am not a sinner. That is a lie from the pit of hell. That is what I was and if I still am then Jesus died in vain. Amen?”
Joyce Meyer (What Happened from the Cross to The Throne? audio)

“I might as well go and smack Him right in the face if I’m going to go around and feel guilty and condemned. Every time you feel guilty and condemned it’s just like slapping Him in the face and saying, You didn’t do a good job. You didn’t do a complete job. I’m an old rotten this and I’m an old rotten that.”
Joyce Meyer (What Happened from the Cross to The Throne? audio)

What does the bible say?
1 John 1:8
If we say we have no sin we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

Apparently angels tell Joyce Meyer what to say

“Now spirits don’t have bodies, so we can’t see them. Okay? There probably is, I believe there is, and I certainly hope there is several angels up here this morning that are preaching with me. I believe that right before I speak some anointed statement to you, that one of them bends over and says in my ear what I’m supposed to say to you.”
Joyce Meyer (Witchcraft & Related Spirits (Part 1) – 2 A-27 Audiotape)

1 Timothy 2:11-12
Let the women learn in silence with all subjection.
But i suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.

1 Corinthians 14:34-35
Let your women keep silent in the churches, for they are not permitted to speak; but they are to be submissive, as the law also says. And if they want to learn something, let them ask their own husbands at home; for it is shameful for women to speak in church.

10 Comments on “Joyce Meyer

  1. There are people reading Joyce Meyer books and take her words as the truth without seeing what the Bible says. She is a dangerous woman. She makes up half of what she preaches. She tells of the revelations from God. She speaks of us being little gods. She is no different than the mormons in that sense.

  2. I thank the Holy Spirit for directing me to this site. I knew most of this already. However, it was good to see that someone else had the same views as I did. I try and learn as much as I can. The word is where I begin my day, the word is where I fill my day, the word is where I end my day. Praise be to our LORD. I would love insight on one particular subject. My children are not ready to come ot the LORD. They say on their time. UGH! I don’t want to be around them much. Is this ok? I tallk to them about Christ and they get angry. I know why. What shall I do? More importantly what does Christ want me to do? Be ye seperate. Thank you, In Christ, Cassie

  3. False prophets are everywhere. Even in my parents-in-law’s house, there are many books written by Joyce Meyers, Joel Osteen, etc. I was often accused by in-laws, of unloving, legalism. I was told that I need to be more opened to God and allow his spirit to reveal the truth instead of being bible thumper. Not only the churches are falling, but the division of God’s people, also takes place at home.

  4. Thank you so much for this site. I accidently stubbled on it seeking bible verses to give to a friend about raising the dead in todays time was not biblical. She is also a true believer of Joyce’s ministry. You have all the answers. I say this ,I want to go to a church that convicts me of my sins everytime I go.

  5. Thanks for your info on false teacher Joyce Meyer. I left a church that was heavily into her heresy teachings, and was going to have a weekly study on her terrible book Battlefiled of the mind. I pray more people see the truth, Joyce is very dangerous.

  6. We who say we love Christ must be very careful what we hear these days, apostasy is permeating the church. We have to study our bibles every single day in order not to be decieved. We here in the west are swimming in bibles, while in ungodly nations persecuted christians are starving for scraps of God’s Word! Please study every single day and do not allow yourselves to be decieved by slick “preachers” who sell you what sounds good and nets them profit! All these TV preachers have a racket going, selling books and DVD’s with “information you can get nowhere else, and which is “vital” to your salvation!” All you need is in God’s Word, study and obey it only!

  7. Do you know I can get a copy of Joyce Meyers 1991 booklet “The Most Important Decision You Will Ever Make”. Or her audio “What Happened From The Cross To The Throne?” I definitely cannot find it on her website and none of the bookstores and amazon does not make it available. I can’t even find a copy of it on ebay. I am a minister and I am teaching on false doctrine and there are several people at my church who listen to her that I am trying to steer them clear of her teachings but they are having trouble believeing her false doctrine about the atonement

  8. I agree that the above statements from Joyce Meyer are false teaching. Can anyone tell me is she is still teaching these things? I listen to her regularly and have never heard these statements. Although I began listening within the past few years. All references I can find to her false teachings are from a time period of about 1995 – 2000. I have not found any documentation that she has taught these things since that time.

  9. I’ve been no fan of this women but what I’ve learned is this read the bible for yourselves and heed what Jesus Christ said test the spirit and by there fruits you will know them to all Born again believers read or listen to our Lord’s word and test everyone you hear or list to preachers teachers and doint take what they say is true read it for yourselves and listen what the word says amen
